The PD140 hand-held Metal Detector is a high-sensitivity device designed to detect magnetic and non-magnetic metal objects. The applications include detection of weapons, detonators and other small metal parts on people or in packages, luggage or correspondence.
The bidirectional detection head allows detection of metal on both sides, upper and lower.
The exclusive ergonomic shape ensures a secure grip, allowing rapid, thorough inspection operations with minimum inconvenience for the persons being checked.
The PD140 Metal Detector is available in two versions with standard sensitivity: PD140V and PD140VR (rechargeable model compatible with the BC140F battery charger). Both can be used with 9V dry or rechargeable (NiMH) batteries. An external inductive battery charger (BC140F) which can be used with the PD140VR model, a carrying case (V140), a test sample and a wrist-strap are also available.
Power supply: 9V with dry batteries (PD140V), 9V with rechargeable NiMH battery (PD140V, PD140VR).
Battery life in continuous operation: 150 hours max with dry alkaline batteries; 40 hours max with rechargeable NiMH battery.

Operating temperature: -15°C ... 65°C (extended temperature range available: -40°C ... 70°C).
